Hindu Shaman, Syara Village, Humla 1985
The Hindu Shaman of Syara village in Humla has not cut his silver banded locks since his initiation several decades ago. Hindu shamans of Humla ususally make the pilgrimage to Manasarovar in Tibet for sacred baths of ablution which cleanse then for their duties as spiritual mediums.
